I have a 2000 evinrude 200hp ficht fuel injected motor on my boat. I am swapping it for an either 99 or 2000 johnson 250hp carburated motor. When i disconnected the wiring harness from the 200 I noticed all the plugs look the same as the harness from my 250 motor. So the question in will the harness from the fuel injected 200 work on my carburated 250?

Yes, another ficht but the dust eh? I think that makes six left in the world, hehe.

I can confirm that the wiring harness does in fact work on my carbed non ficht engine. It runs and starts. However there is no choke. Do I need to replace the ignition switch with a push to choke option?

Well, you need the purple wire to carry ign voltage to the OMS pump and the Voltage regulator. Normally the purple/white wire operates the choke. I would think you need to pull a dedicated choke wire to the harness connector, to mate with the correct pin on the motor harness.

I guess I misread your post. If you have the purple/white wire in the harness, you would simply need to change the ign switch.

Yes, push to choke switch should plug right in. Verify voltage at primer when key is depressed in the run position.
