getting close to firing up my 4.3l. I thought I had everything I needed to start out of the boat (wiring harness and gauges from old boat) but don't have the shifter with me. So plan b was to jump the pins on the motor harness. Double checking the pins I got some odd resistance readings. There was some continuity between purple and most of the other wires: about 1.5k ohms, including purple and ground, and continuity between purple and gray. Also 7 ohms across the coil terminals. Chased it down to the connector on the TB module. With it disconnected, there's no continuity between ground and any other wires except gray, which is still 7 ohms. So is this expected behavior or did I miswire something?

Yeah, I've got that part (and the engine turned over, but I disconnected the module before applying power). What I don't know is if it's normal to get the continuity readings that I'm getting with the module connected. I'm concerned that I've miswired something.

Wish I could say but never tried to see what they would be before
If the connections ring out like in the wiring diagram it should work is about all I would know

With the electronics inside those modules, your readings sound 'normal'.

To run the engine without an instrument panel, jump red/purple to purple (ignition power). Then either use a remote start switch on the start solenoid or jump red/purple to yellow/red. To stop it running, just remote the first jumper...

Thanks, the module is literally a black box with what's going on. Didn't want to burn it up. Spun it over already today, I'll hook the module back up and see if we can get her running tomorrow. Thanks guys!
