ok I have a 94 horizion190, with omc 5.0 cobra. I found a plug on the enigine that is not plugged in. I cant located where it goes and cant figure out what it goes too. it is one the left side of the motor and it has two purple wires and a black wire. Anyone know what this plug goes to?

I'm not familiar with your boat model but my Four Winns 278 has a number of plugs that are not plugged in. When wiring harnesses are made up they are somewhat generic in nature as they might have to be used in a number of various situations. My boat is not equipped with A/C, a generator or a remote spotlight but the wiring harness would accommodate many of these features without running new wire. I believe my engine would run smartcraft gauges with little modification for the same reason.
Boats moving along an assembly line are being prepared for various markets, various accessories/engines, etc and the wiring may have a few plugs that are not needed in a particular situation.

A few more thoughts
Purple wires should be hot or positive when the ignition is on and black is negative or ground.
Some engines have connections that mechanics use for diagnostic work.
If everything works - nothing to worry about.

The plug may be for options not installed on your boat. You can download the wiring diagrams from the Four Winns site to check.
