Is this splicing correct or a work around by an owner?

Thanks for any help.

That splice is called a scotch lock. Horrible way to make a splice, not reliable or weather tite.

Anyone know where we could get engine wiring diagrams? Reviewed the 4.3GL Manual at boatinfo....went through 262 pages and only found a few references. Thanks for any help/

Kind of hard to find specific diagrams for a particular motor or boat. Google boat wiring diagram, you will come up with some generic diagrams, with color coding that is pretty much universal for any motor. Then you can study your harness, and figure out what you need to do or replace. When making connections, be sure to use good quality marine rated connecters, that have the shrink type of sealer built on the connecters. And use only 'captive' of connecters. Just remember, No scotch locks, or wire nuts allowed on boats!

Thanks Grub...PO did something (I think a relay bypass) to the fuel pump that I really want to resolve during re-power.
