Hello all -

I need to replace the rubber tubing that the harness & battery cables went through. I do not know if what was there was the OEM black rubber or if it had been reblaced previously.

The motor is a 1975 70HP Evinrude 3cyl.

Any recommendations/suggestions?

I don't think the common automotive split-loom or spiralwrap loom is the way to go, and garden hose has too small an I.D. to pass all three cables. I tried using flexible conduit, but it is not flexible enough.

Thanks for any help out there,
Matt M

Matt, I just did a search for "heat shrink tubing" on Yahoo and found a whole bunch of sites that carry the large diameter tubeing. Might be what yer' lookin' for.

Re: Wiring Loom into Outboard replacement?

Thanks everybody!

Now...

Anybody actually use any of these? 'Cause you know what a pain in the posterior it'd be to have the stuff get beat up by UV & weather, and then have to re-thread the electric cables through there (mainly the enging winring from the throttle control box...)!

I do know the factory stuff from 1976 lasted rather well, until come critters decided to start munching on it ( and the intertior wiring, as well). I just ordered a new red plug harness, and I really don't want to have to do all this wiring again for a few years!

Thanks,
M

-----------
OBJ -

I found this site http://www.oldbluejacket.com/ & initially thoguht it was you, based on the e-mail address & nautical theme...but Ohio & Nevada aren't exactly the same thing...
