ok , I just bought this motor...
Evinrude 1968 55h triumph (outboard)

the wiring is all screwed up, the harness rotted a bit and some one tried to splice the wires .
well needless to say the guy before me really screwed it up , So does anyone know where i might find the complete wiring schematics for this motor? I'm in a big rush.I am not opposed to buying a book but i don't want to spend $20 on something that is not going to give me what i need.
I am very inclined in other wiring and electronic areas but i can't make heads or tails out of this on. It would normally be an easy chore , but it has been hacked up so bad and spliced so poorly I cant seem to trace anything.
any input would be greatly accepted.

Thank you in advance....
Rik

Rick, I hope it's not too obvious to suggest you buy a manual. My Clymer manual has excellent wiring schematics for all models covered although I've heard others complain they are hard to read. Other option is to ask a dealer if he will let you photocopy a page or two out of a shop manual.

Agreed ,
althuogh i doubt any mechanic will put himself out of a job by showing me his shop manual , so
if anyone knows or could highly recommend a book that would have the info i am looking for i would be in debt to you , thanks rik

Re: wiring schematics

my wrench let me photocopy the whole manual for a price ;) Guess he figured it wouldn't help me that much.

Clymer and Seloc both make manuals for your motor and get equally good reviews. You can usually buy either on this site. If you can't decide, check which one has the better schematic for your motor.
