Wiring up a Cigarette lighter on boat

I already have a cigarette lighter on my boat but it doesnt work, how can i fix this?

Make sure, using a voltmeter ,that you have 12 Volts going to the lighter. If so, replace the lighter. They do go bad rather quickly from rust and corrosion inside the socket...

if no corrosion inside, then make sure inner sleeve is tight on outer ring. otherwise when u push the lighter in, it will not make contact and not heat.

make sure its a stainless one made for marine use or it will only work for as day, maybe less

Check the buss bar also, and follow the wires. Mine was wired to the accresorie switch.
