I just bought a pop up camper and want to run a power line to the front porch so I can plug it in when I and getting it ready or cleaning it up after a trip. I need a 30 amp service from the power pole to the plug that will be in a water proof box just short of 100 feet. What size wire do I need to use?

Re: wiring

Here's a quick table for normal situations. Go up a size for
more than 100 foot runs, when the cable is in conduit, or
ganged with other wires in a place where they can't dissipate
heat easily:

Gauge...... Amps
14......... 15
12......... 20
10......... 30
8......... 40
6......... 65
C&P from the net.

Re: wiring

i'd go with 8 wire put on a 30 amp... unless 8 wire costs a ton more ,,than go 10 wire..

if you break it down thru a panel.. and you have a commom recipticale ,,say out the bottom of the panel,, the recpt.must be a gfi recepticale...
