should the main hot wire from the ignition switch go to the pos or neg side of the coil? thunderbolt ignition on a 454 mercruiser. had it marked but the writing faded....thanks

See if this link helps, usually the purple wire from the wiring harness and the purple from the module go to the pos. side of the coil.
