I didn't actually do this, I didn't even own a boat at the time, honest!

I was at Wychmere Harbor on Cape Cod tracking down a charter boat. It was early April, and quite chilly. A guy came down the launch ramp with about a 23' or 25' cuddy cabin. He backed it into the water, and you guessed it, nothing was attached to the boat! He watched helplessly as his boat drifted into the harbor. Being April, there was no one else around to catch it for him. It eventually made it's way towards the marina, bouncing off several other boats, before bumping into a large sailboat that had someone on board.
The sailboat owner was able to grab the boat and secure it until the guy got over to him and retrieved it. Lucky for him, because the next stop was Cape Cod Bay, and then Boston!

Actually, I had the right side, wrong harbor! It was in Sesuit Harbor in Dennis. It was a few years ago, it all starts to blend together after a while.
