She likes to go and I like for her to go, she is my main driver when I ski but she also thinks that 2 hours on the water is plenty while I could stay for 6, 8, 10, 12..overnight, whatever

Nah, she's great about it. But it's still new to us, we'll see in a year or two. I don't think we'll have any problems because she likes it as much as me.

My wife does not like to be out more than 3 hours or sail very HARD, We took here on one race and banned her after that

So her Sailing time is on Friday nights or Sat afternoons and she usally brings her twin sister ;)

I crew for races with my 20 and 23 year old and other family menbers so when we get home at 10pm on tuesday and thursday all she wants to know is if we had FUN

Mine loves to fish. She frowns when it's time to head in.

as long as I keep my time to a resonable amount. She has told me that having a boat seems to keep me happy, so that makes her happy.

Mine would like to go out every day.
That's why I take the truck to work everyday.
I could see it now, I take the car to work one day and at noon I see the local news broadcast and there's my truck/boat in the headline.

I won't take a rash of **** from anyone over doing something as innocent at playing with my toys, especially ones that she can be included in using.

And every once in a while I end sitting in a tupperware party to be there for her..........NOT!

Boats and cars, cars and boats. That's what we do. It's that compatibility thing, or balance as has been mentioned.

God bless her, she really likes to be a part of instead of being apart. :D

She would have been in the picture of our boat, but decided to snorkle over to find a few more scallops.

My wife didnt like it when I took the boat out and she knew I WOULD BE DRINKING......................you dont drink anything alcoholic( or smoke the happy weed) when you take it out do you? If not maybe she needs a "hobby" she can spend time on while you are gone. Mine took up the hobby of going and using her credit card at the mall...........lordy.glad I STOPPED DRINKING.LOL:D

Well I live on Lake Norman sooo, usually my wife follows me down to the boat, we normally spend about 6 - 8 hours at a time out on the boat and she loves it just as much as I do!

Mine never gave me a ration of anything about anything I wanted to do.

Too bad I didn't fully appreciate how lucky I was at the time.

Re: Wives and Boats

My wife can't swim and seems to think anything involving water over three feet deep is just suicidally insane.
She has not, and will not set foot on the boat, but she does understand how much it means to me to get out and relax.
She doesn't mind if I go out, but she will not join me. (sigh) I wish she would.

Re: Wives and Boats

Mine's allways asking me "Can we take the boat out today?" :D

She would go out every day, but she has some back issues and the water can't be too rough or she suffers. She loves boating almost as much as I do. (Well, maybe more as she doesn't have to do the maint/repairs. :D)

As long as you two spend a reasonable ammount of time together doing things she/both of you like, then there should be no reason to b*tch about your 'alone time' with the boat. My .02.
