Re: Wives and Boats

Been married 20 years today. When I bought the boat, I made sure she would be comfortable on it when she went. She doesn't go out often. I may get a look when I get back, if I went boating instead of cutting thhe grass.

Re: Wives and Boats

Does anyone have trouble with their wife giving them a rash of ***** over going to the water and messing with the boat too much...or is it just me?

Generally i am not one to meddle into the affair's of a husband wife relationship. I find that by far more private than any any polotical discussion....that is the only arena where my private belief's cant be.....disallusioned shall we say..(could i be wrong...not even..:p)

But i will go far out on a limb here and advise to never and i say never pick up these one of kind short's

Doesn't this fall under the "sources of evil" thread?

Re: Wives and Boats

My wife doesn't enjoy fishing, and that's what I do with the boat. She likes it when I come back from fishing, since I'm relaxed and smiling. So she encourages it.

Once in a while, we both go out in the boat and have a picnic on some island or something. She'll go fishing with me occasionally, too, but sits in the middle seat and reads while I fish.

There has never been any tension about the boat or my activities in it.

My wife loves the boat enough to bring all her single, bikini clad friends, and I don't have a problem with that. :p :D :D

Re: Wives and Boats

I've only taken my wife out on the boat (bass boat for fishing) once this year. But anytime and I mean anytime I want to go, she says, be careful and have a good time.

P.S. She can also make great sausage gravy.:D

Re: Wives and Boats

I was born and raised on the water. Boating and fishing have always been part of my life and always will be. I realize it's far more important to me than it is to Mr. LF. It's also very important to me to know the boat, the GPS, sonar, and any other equipment we use. I can captain it nearly as well as he does. To go out for a couple of hours is a waste of gas and time to me.

When I fish, I pack for the day and make sure when I load the boat that we have every piece of gear, bait, emergency item(s), and food/drink so there is absolutely no excuse to come back before sundown. Oh yeah, I also make our fishing leaders for our trips and clean every single fish we have ever caught.

Fishing and boating is how I spell relief. It takes me a million miles away from the day to day stresses. I could not live without it.

My wife goes with me all the time.
She reads in the back of the boat and cheers me on when i catch that big 6oz LM Bass. :)

It's our time together and I cherish it.
The boat is the best thing we ever purchased.
Like LadyFish said, it's our stress relief.
Just not enough time to do it as often as i want.

My wife is far and away my favorite boating partner, that's why I always try like heck to make sure she has a fun and relaxing time out each time we go.

Hey LadyFish

If we were both not already married then I would ask you to marry me right here and now! :D

Well, I guess my wife is spoiled, because she doesn't care for the boat atall, since she learned how to drive the jetski :( That's all she ever wants to do now, and the lake I boat on is always rough, and most of the time you can't ride more then 20mph, (or just enough to keep the bow up) or you get pounded to death!
