Re: wizard outboard id?

Hi Bob Your Wizard outboard was built by Kiekhaefer/Mercury for Western Auto stores. the WN-7 is a 12hp made in 1955. Point gap is .018, the fuel/oil ratio is 3/8pint oil to the gal of gas. The spark plugs would be Champion J7J gapped at .025. I checked three diffent sources for this info and came up with three slitely differnt sets of specs. I giving you the one in the middle.

Re: wizard outboard id?

The WF-4 followed the WG-4, a 6 hp Merc-made Wizard that came out in 54. Go to www.oldmercs.com and look up the specs for the Merc KD4...same motor, different shaped gas tank and paint color. Nice smooth running little motors.
