In an absolutely unrelated bit to this thread, Lipp(y), I noticed that you have in your Sig,
a Dodge Big Horn....or did have...I have a Vintage...Genuine Big Horn Saddle. Just thought
it was funny. By the way, we still have it after 40 yrs...still soaped regularly, although in
Toronto, not Nova Scotia. Still pristine though. According to my brother, still creaks
like a saddle should.....No one wants a saddle any more, sadly.

Boy they are frustrating !!!! They play the first 10 and the last 5 minutes each game. Someone needs to remind them that the game is 60 minutes long !!!! Either that or they start using velcro wrapped pucks and sticks for the home games !!! maybe they could receive a pass then !!!!

I have to check with aspeck and see if he needs me to call those games too I know he has a jacked up schedule!

I will be out at the Casino Windsor VIP New Years Eve Party (I am not a gambler by the way, it is a freebie invite) Room, Dinner, 70's Disco and all you can drink for free !!!! should be a great night. I plan to be in our room with laptop for the start of the game. Dinner is at 7 p.m. EST and game is at 4 p.m. EST so should work out quite nicely !!! Hopefully the TV in the room will have TSN so I can watch it. If not then I will be streaming it in on the laptop. If streaming on the laptop I will only be posting in the commercials or between periods. If on the TV then I will have the laptop in top gear on the forum.

I'm always on for the Juniors, but maybe PO'd Ken regarding the Leafs. Still not sure...
as he hasn't commented. I wouldn't want to comment either, on that trade...
I watched Darrell Sittler score ten points against my boys, in one game, back in the
70's, Not sure if our Goalie played another game (Dave Reese, I think) (I cried)
Not sure how old you are Ken, or how far you go back, but we get our digs when we can.

Not PO'd at all. Thats the Leafs. Came to Canada 21 years ago from England and flew into Toronto so that was my hockey team !!! Maybe I should have flown into Montreal, Ottowa, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary or even Columbus, Ohio !!! Yep, That's Hockey !!

Somewhere along the lines I got confused between the Leaf's score and the US score ... a little bit of clarification????? Please????

Tomorrow night I am busy with a New Year's Eve party/service at the church. A fun time, and goes from 9 pm till 2 or 3 am. Have to get a few things ready before hand, so again I will appreciate the "feel of real time" for tomorrow nights game. THANKS! Appreciate it!

Ken, never any offence intended. I work with dozens of folks landed in Canada,
Pier 21 who have loved the Leafs for decades. I myself was born in Germany (RCAF)
but happened to turn on the TV to the 1970 Cup Finals in Nova Scotia. Thats the way it turns
out man. Its who you see first, I think. I like to call it imprinting...kinda like Geese.
Sorry if I may have offended you, and yours.
My Mom sailed to Quebec on the Sylvannia (sp) with 5 kids in 1960.

.....good game for the U.S, they are on track with the book makers so far having them as favourites and Canada as an underdog (love that part too).:)
So things are looking interesting heading into (almost) the finals:
Pool A Leader: U.S.A
Pool B Leader: Canada
...hang on to your hats, its going to get bumpy, fast and fun!!;)

As for Canada being an underdog give me strength these teams are so close and for anyone to call one or the other the underdog is a mistake, Everyone knows that Canada is King in hockey, and if it wasn't for Canada USA would never be any good at Hockey... but I will also say that these players all play together so much that its no surprise that Canada and the USA are the top teams and will be for a very long time! The face of Hockey is changing in that North America is becoming the place to play hockey, one of the things the US broadcast did was identify all the players from the opposing team that play in either Canada or the USA in this age group, its pretty impressive and a testament to how strong the sport is on the continent, Due for the most part to Canada!


P.S. I am a proud American but the truth is still the truth.

Well Team Canada plays at 1:00 PM Eastern time and your more then welcome to join in! The more hockey fans the better!!

And I don't blame the Norwegian Goalie one bit!! A man deserves to sleep without nightmares flying at his head!!LOL I bet that kid looked like the goalie in slapshot! dodging phantom pucks for hours after the game!LOLOL

Sorry my bad Canada plays at 4 PM Eastern 1 PM PACIFIC USA plays at 8 PM Eastern 4 PM Pacific....Most importantly is that Canada plays at 2 PM my time and the USA plays at 6 PM my time, if your in Australia............
