wont crank

I recently bought a 72 fiber form with a 351w stern drive merccruiser model 888 I noticed yesterday a crack on the water intake at the top of the engine on the left side above the exhaust manifold I tryed to star it and it tryed to crank(cranked really slow about 1 full revolution)and it wont crank at all now.it just click I checked the batt and it has full charge any sudgestions.

p.s.I tryed to turn the block with a breaker(no luck) bar but wasnt sure of direction

Remove all the spark plugs, then try cranking the engine.

You didn't drain all the water out of the block last fall, didja? It froze and cracked!

There's a good chance you bent something by cranking on it without knowing what was wrong. Water could have entered a cylinder from the crack. Your piston rod will bend before you compress a cylinder full of water.
