Hey guys , ok long story short.. i told my uncle not to touch the boat because he dont know how to operate it.. well i came back and it wont shift onti first , after many attempts it will catch... but sometimes it revs high and catches and that impact is nasty.. i hope he didnt mess anything up..
What he did was drive it with tilt like 75% down and he said he only drove it for a couple min slowly and docked it on the sand bank..
Also i did go over some rocks earlier, maybe the prop was hit ? IDK this damn boat is a nightmare lol

Pull it out and double check the shift cable adjustments

I hope i didnt kill the drive.. i took a look today and there s little chunk missing on the corner of the lower unit by tye drain plug.. about 1/3rd of inch deep and about 2 inches around.. : (
Im praying its not from that

Here is a pic.

Need a better pic without the finger, in that area is the shift spool and selector. A dented case will affect the shifting

I took out The drive today and it looks fine.. prop locks when i put the that sift rod in the center..
The problem is the end of the shift cable with the metal bracket..it does not move back or forth its stuck , maybe thats the problem the shift cable got damaged from the hit ?

It looks like the drive has taken a beating before with the skeg guard on it.

Maybe its from that one time ? But did u see the last video ? Its stuck , is that normal or possible from a hit like that ? That itll throw off the cable or cause it to get stuck like this ?

Have someone move the shifter and watch what it does. That should not move freely.

If its not disconnected from the shift plate it wont move.
If it is disconnected from the shift it was overheated and fused the shift cable where it passes by the Y pipe

lol it seems im asking questions and solving my own issues my self..

Ok i took everything apart and put back correctly.. and readjusted cables .. now i can shift again !

But sometimes engine still stalls.. it seems like im getting a big surge of air around the carb like a vacume leak and then it stalls.. ?

It probably needs a new lower shift cable. The shift interrupt is most likely the cause of the stall. The inner sheath gets warn and the cable doesn't have the travel it should.
