wont start 1975 55hp sea king, got spark, and gas

I just bought a 1975 Montgomery Ward tri-hull, bowrider, with a 55hp 2cyl, 2 stroke, Sea King outboard, it turns over, got spark, and 50:1 fuel. but wont start, there is no air cleaner, (i need one?) alittle drops of gas, leak out where the air cleaner should screw on, am i getting too much gas?? where are adjustments? and how do i adjust them? Thanks for your advice, Im new here, Rick

sound like the carb floats is stuck, carbs dirty.. disconnect gas line, take a spray bottle with 50:1 in it and spray into the carb throat. and try starting.

does it have a lanyard safety kill switch? if so it may be bad ..learned that on my boat had fire and gas and was trying to fire up but wouldnt start crossed over kill switch fired right up... bought a new one and installed it ...but found other problems so off to fix them...LOL
