Re: wont start, just bought a lemon

yeh scary cant wait until i get it going 100%,:never driven a short before but skied behind plenty, now its sounds like the boat will be a hand full when i get it back always had inboards my last boat was a lewis 350 chev but got sick of not being able to go fishing in it,so the top speed for my boat would be around 100 mph is that correct.

Top speed, hum, well with the right prop, a jack plate, proper tuning a few tricks here and there and assuming you plan on exceeding max RPM then maybe a 100 is possible. Realize though that if you push that enigne out to it's max you'll be doing a annual rebuild.

Of course this is all assuming that the boat will stay together at 100mph. A 100mph crash is no laughing matter and it takes a lot of practice to drive a boat going that fast. This aint something your gonna learn to do in a couple of weekends.

Jump over to www.screamandfly.com and ask your question about "How fast" over there. Make sure you mention that you've never gone fast in a small boat before.
