Hmmmm...Interesting:

Never had a 2 stroke that didnt need a bit of choke and throttle at start...Even sometimes warm I have to put the throttle up a "tad". No big deal. If everything is working as it should, You will find the perfect sequence for starting your motor hot or cold. Ive got it down to how many"bumps" of the primer it takes to smooth it out from cold start!

Nothing to worry over, its not much effort to use the warm up throttle or primer/choke. If it is for you, might be time to move to a 4 stroke injected.

The controllers with warm up levers are much more easier (and common) to use in my opinion than the ones that you must pull out the throttle and push it forward

I have both, a warm up lever on my Johnny and the single lever pull out control on my Mercruiser. Lift lever, push key for choke and start. Pull out lever pump forward, leave at 1/3 throttle and start. Never really thought about which was more difficult.

well guys i think i found it....the reasone it wasn't starting with the key is i was turning and pressing the choke every time and most likely flooding or just getting to much fuel.

so at home put pn the muffs and did the turn and press....no start....then got it started, sthut it off and just turned the key and then she started......yea i think thats wheee i went wrong. no test it on the water.
