Won't stay running

So this is really weird. I have a 94 Force 120 and for some time now it's been running bad and I haven't been able to figure out why. It was only running when the throttle was all the way forward in the fast idle position. And then as soon as I backed up to neutral it would die.
Well, today after about a month and doing several things, I think I found out what it is. When I'm out on the water and the motor is level it won't stay running on the neutral position. But if I trim up just a little bit, the motor stays running and then I can go into gear. Does anyone knows why?

Have you cleaned the carbs? Set the float levels correctly, sounds like they may be set too high? Needles may be sticking. Sounds like you may be flooding the carbs when the engine is sitting level the gas goes into the motor and is too rich to burn. When you trim or tilt up, this lets the excess gas come out and the motor will run. Just a thought. Let us know.

It's the floats and needle three of them on your motor. At least get some mercury cleen in there go run it. Mine after second trip out on lake ran fantastic. I think your needles maybe staying in up position like mine.
