Wood boat, some minor rot

I bought a 1959 wood Cadillac boat yesterday.
There is some rot in the wood but not too bad.

I want to restore the complete boat but have never worked with wood rot in a boat. (I do have wood working skills though).

It is constructed of mahogony plywood.

Where is a good starting point to learn the basics of which types of epoxies, techniques that will be needed?

Where & how big are the problem spots? Pictures of the problem areas would help a lot. Unless they are quite small spots in non-critical areas there is probably not much that can be done with 'epoxies' alone that will result in a descent repair. Need more information.

plywood boat are usually patched buy cutting out the bad area, fitting a new piece, then on the inside applying a larger piece of plywood as backing. fastened to the existing good wood.

no wood rot considered minor. you need to start jabbing the entire hull

What do you mean 'no wood rot considered minor'? I've seen everything from from an 8' pram that you could crumble the whole boat in your hands from the rot (pretty severe) to 45' boats with a thumbnail size area of soft wood (I'd call that pretty minor). There are as many differing degrees as one can imagine. (Of course then there are all the wood boats with no problems -rot- at all.)
