Wood - deck and transom

It is finally wood weekend. Everything is stripped and the old transom has been removed (saved to use as a pattern).

My question is about wood. Seems as though marine plywood is hard to find (and expensive), treated plywood will react with aluminum, and need to dry for several weeks prior to use, that leaves exterior cdx. I plan to epoxy all surfaces of the deck and transom prior to installation, but need some suggestions as to the best wood to use. I would like to pick up the wood this weekend, and start on the transom.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Clark, How about BC or AC plywood? it will have a smoother finish that the CDX. All the plywoods use waterproof glues these days, and you will cover it with resin and cloth anyway.

If the plywood will be visible, don't overlook baltic birch plywood. This is extremely high quality with many many plies (I used 3/4" for my transom and it is 13 ply), superb finish, and very dry so it takes resins beautifully. Mine was 1/2 the price of marine ply.
