Decided to start a wood specific thread. Winter is setting in so transom repair will probably have to wait. Instead, I can work on the interior (22ft Sea Ray Overnighter with Hardtop). So, that raises a question on wood type. I know I am going with marine grade plywood for the floors but what about other items like the dinette, galley, bulkheads, and helm. Much of these show their wear and tear of 40 years so would like to refurb them. Certain portions are teak so that part is easy (like kind), however, most of the cabinetry, dinette and bulkheads are made with what looks like pre-laminated plywood with a thin finish layer. That is, they have a white finish and exposed wood edges except in a few places that look like thin laminated formica on the edges as well.
So, looking for suggestions on what's available in the market in the way of pre-finished plywood or panels that will stand up to wet or damp conditions of a boat cabin? Anybody else refinish their interiors and have suggestions?.
Thanks...
