Hi All,
Having sorted out another ignition problem (CD2USL) I now have a problem with the woodruff key snapping on the flywheel / crank, both have snapped in the same area and are the same size, im going to get 2 more from my local Evinrude stockists.
Question, is it the flywheel which has been beaten around prior to me owning the engine, i have a spare flywheel from an earlier model ( 85/86 ) which is 1 tooth smaller but can i fit this too my engine ??? with the corrisponding starter gear which is 1 tooth larger, the internal diameter is the same and having tried it for a fitting it also fits the crank etc.
Or is it a torquing down problem ??? i understand that the flywheel should be torqued down to 100ft lbs and was sure that it was this tim, any advice regarding the problem would be greatly appreciated.
