Nah, I'm from the laid back medical field. We had a no salute rule on hospital grounds. We can apply that the the docks as well.

Uhhhh I was US Army and we had Article 15's (never got one ) but in Naval terms it is usually referred to as a Captain's Mast

Looked for you this weekend, Saturday was great, bet there wasn't 12 boats out all day. They made up for it yesterday though.

I was actually on Shabbonna Lake with my son on Saturday. He caught two muskie and I caught a fat lotta nothing!!

My former sister in law was jumping off the R/R trestle there just downstream from Moonlight bay yesterday. She got clipped by a train. Busted the hell out of her arm. She is up in Rockford at Saint Anthonys hospital. Screws, Rods, and plates holding her arm together.
I feel like hell that I wasn't there. If I was there, there isn't no way in hell anybody would have been jumping off that trestle.

I heard that on the radio, but the way they said it made it sound like someone dropped her off at the tracks because she wanted out of the boat.

I suppose though, that might be a better story than the truth. Some buddies and I got caught jumping back in the 80's when we were in high school. That day pretty much cured me.:redface:

With the current and undertow the river has right now, I would not even get in the water without a PFD and a float rope.

Hope she is gonna be OK. Sounded like it messed her up pretty bad. But, luckily it was not worse.

I alway wondered, how do people not know there is a train coming?

Oh yeah, how did he like pulling in those Muskie? Bet he had a blast.

He loved it!! And of course he rubbed dear ol dads nose in it. I don't care tho. It was a great day.
The only part he didn't like was getting them off the hook.
"Um Dad, it has teeth!"
"yeah, yeah it does"
"You wanna help me with this?"
"Nope, you caught it, you put it back."

I should say that he is 19. If he were like 10 or so, then of course I would have helped him. He figured it out and still has all his fingers.


The wind on that trestle is loud enough that trains can sneak up on you. They don't blow their horns and appearantly(sp?) they go fast enough that stopping isn't an option.

To me, messing around anywhere near a train is just plain dumb. It looks like she will make a full recovery. She's just gonna have a devil of a time getting through metal detectors.

Anyway..............Congrats on Ensign. We called Ensigns "butterbars" back when I was Navy.
