Just a quick question for everyone....I took my boat out for the first time this week and could not get it to start. It started once, but quickly died

Now I want to work on it at home.

Do I need to get a larger trash container filled with water to submerge the engine? If so, how far up on the engine does the water level need to be? Sorry about the dumb question, but I'm new at this!

Thanks everyone.

The water level should be about 6" above the cavitation plate to allow for losses while running.

Why don't you get the ear muffs and a garden hose?

Sony, these Force50's are wierd birds the normal muffs wont work properly due to the shape and location of the intake. They make a square one that kinda werks, but not reliably. The best method for running outta water is the garbage can, with a hull flange and drain in the bottom (so u can drain it).

Water should cover the cavitation plate.
