Hello All,
I found water trapped in the core /sandwich (between the fiberglass layers) of my World Cat deck wall (under the fishing coaming bolsters area).

I recently bought this 2000 WC 266SC. The boat looks and performs perfect (like knew). However, when I tried to cut a small hole on the wall of the deck next to the battery (so I can safely run the battery charger cable with the compartment closed), I noticed water coming out of the cut area (of the fiber glass). After I pulled the circular piece , I noticed that the core is wet and that it has turned turned green (see picture). The front and back layers like the gel coat/Fiberglas front and back are solid thou.
Please let me know if you have any recommendations. The floors and the rest of the hull seem to be solid. I will be conducting more tests all over to make sure.

LOCATION of the Damaged area (Port side deck wall/right under the bolsters). I know that the area under the bolsters usually stays wet and maybe some water got into the fiberglass from there.

-How long can we estimate that wall to stay strong before it starts losing strength?

-Can I buy a humidity detection machine to test the rest of the deck and hull?

-The good news is that WC built a very thick deck wall (thicker than other boats decks). So far I have plenty of hard surface on both the front and the back of the wall/deck. Again, even with the delaminated portion, I'm still pretty solid accuse of the thickness of the material.

Thanks!

how about a picture from about 3 feet away and a picture of the boat from like 10 feet away.

cant tell if its a sandwich or the core out of a hole saw.

Fixed! It was just a hole behind/under the bolsters that was allowing water to get in that area. I sealed it and dried it. GTG!
Thanks!
