jay your right...The wings do come off and then the wing can come apart in two, three or even four section. And as far as cost...Those little turbo jets are REAL exspenive!!! There design and operation is just about the same as the big boys. cooL little power plants!!! Off the top of my head that B-52 might be something like 8/9 thousand maybe??? :eek:

Back in the day I built my 1/4 scale biplane I opted for the 4 stroke twin cyl. 3.0 cubic inch Saito engine swinging a 20" prop 8000RPM that motor costed me about $1000.00. I could have easily bought 4 two stroke motors for that amount. Had to double up on servo's and battery power for the control surfaces, it took me two years to build it and flying it was like riding a bike. It's as close I'll ever come to flying the real thing.

I have pics but no digital images that can upload, this was back in 89-90. But there's a million out there just like it, Saito FA 300T (engine) Weeks Special (plane) It was 1/4 scale of the actual lifesize sport plane.
