Re: Worse thing you hit in the water ?
About 13 years ago my wife and I took some friends tubing on the Kankakee River out of the DesPlaines Conservation Area. We are tubing along around 20mph when this 27 foot Baja blows by me 55+/-. At the time I thought A..hole. Well we go down a bit and turn around. Well here is the Baja floating in the middle of the channel. The driver is waving and yelling at me. Ya I see you, I think to myself. Then I see his bilge running nonstop, not to mention his stern sitting low.
Well, he hit a submerged log and took off his whole lower unit. I managed to tow him to a sandbar. He was going to come back the next day with scuba gear to try and find it.
I have hit a few logs on the Illinois River, no real damage
