I have an opportunity to buy a really sweet boat for a great price. It has a 200 HP Evinrude that needs a lower unit that I just happen to have. It also banged up against the rocks and did the damage shown in the pictures. Is this a repair I can do? He said it is composite and glass. Any idea what it would cost to have it repaired?

It's fiberglass...Anything can be fixed. It's just a matter of time, and material. That's some ugly damage but...It can be repaired. What Year and Mfg of boat is it? What's the asking Price. You should be able to do an adequate repair for under $200 bucks if you do it yourself and with our help you can. It's location makes it a bit challenging but still can be done.

I can get the whole rig for $900. It has a 1997 Evinrude 200 HP that needs lower unit work. I already have a lower unit that will work so I am good there. Boat is a 21' Stratos Pro Elite. What would be the rough cost to have it repaired somewhere?

Costs for repair by a Shop ...My Guess-Ti-Mate $750-$1,000 IF it's only superficial. I can't tell from the pic if the glass is fractured.Does it feel soft and flexible or is it hard and solid all around that area.

If motor runs and has good even compression its worth the $900.00 alone in my opinion especially since you have the lower unit. Do a little research confirm its a composite boat Stratos is still in business. but personally I would buy it get some good pictures posted up here (get a free photobucket account) and as WOG said plenty of help to get it done

Bought it. It is not quite as bad as I thought but still will take some work. I will work on getting better pictures. The gel coat does not feel separated.
