So....
Just scored a couple of PWCs. Run into my neighbor, he says he's pulling them out for the season, and is going to trailer them back a couple of hours and just wants to get rid of them. I ask how much. $1000. For 2 skis and the trailer. I, of course, immediately offer to buy them. So now they're mine.

Pros:
1. They each have 50 hours on them.
2. Professionally serviced yearly.
3. They both run. I actually took them out about a month ago. The Yamaha runs great except the speedo doesn't work. The sea doo ran for a while and then a CEL kept coming on, and eventually went into limp mode. No idea what the issue is.
4. Dual trailer is mint condition.
5. Holy crap, $1k?!

Cons:
1. The potential aformentioned divorce.
2. I have nowhere to put these things.
3. I don't know anything about them. One is a sea-doo spark, the other is a Yamaha of some sort. I couldn't find HINs today when I took a quick look.
4. Looks like I'll need some expensive diagnostic equipment for the sea doo.
5. I REALLY don't need more boats or projects.

Curious what I could get for these if I sold them, thinking easy $5-10k. But it would be poor form to flip them right away...

In my mind flipping right away is a bad idea.
But that justs the way I think. I once gave a buddy of mine a motor for his pot hauler because he was in a jam and the prick sold it. Never again.

Only 50 hours on them and he’s selling both? WHY??? That’s the first thing I’d ask.
Only 50 hours and one of them went into limp mode already? I’d be concerned.
$1000 for 2 jet skis with only 50 hours on them? Don’t know how old they are but with only 50 hours they can’t be too old. Market price of them together is somewhere north of $10,000 and maybe way north more than what you paid. I would have majors concerns and questions.
in any event I hope it works out for you and turns out to be a great deal.

Guy's going thru a divorce and wants to stick it to the wife on the way out. He can legally sell them more than likely but is it right, IMO no. Can hang on to them and sell them back to her later if it comes up as an issue

Huh , I got my Capri like that , was my Uncles car but he eventually dumped the wife he married and she was being a pita over the car that she had previously said she wouldn't be seen dead in just because she wanted to stick it to him ..... so he sold it to me for 4k , probly worth 3 times that .

Ha, no. I might be getting the divorce once my wife finds out. They're not getting divorced.

They never use them. They're 2014s and 50 hours in 12 years. They had offered to sell it to me before but I never asked a price. Wouldn't have paid anywhere near what they're worth. Certainly nothing to be concerned about. I could sink both the skis and sell the trailer for more than I paid. I also put them in the water, swapped out batteries ($300 right there), changed oil for them this year. I don't even like jet skis.

2014 Jet Fleas would not go for anything like some of you are saying around here. Around these parts you paid about 1/2 of what they would go for on the open market.
