Re: Worthwhile Project for a Newbie?

i would be all over that boat like white on rice.....

classic ray with twin merc 6 bangers ??? score !

you are in canada, so we dont have the title issues that the states have.

and you live on a lake......

this is a no brainer to me.....(that is ...if you have the time , money, and want a boat)

the link in my sig was a 69 srv 190....its now 25 feet.......the inner stringer design is/ will be almost identical as yours.

questions....just ask bud

cheers
oops

Not all the states have title issues fortunately, Arkansas for one is a no title state, only the trailer needs a title, and if that doesnt have one ya remove all the plates and claim homebuilt!

Re: Worthwhile Project for a Newbie?

Hey guys,

Thanks for all the posts! Well, I've got her all tarped up for winter. Not sure what my plans are for her yet. I don't want it to sit too long with no attention. I'd love to see 'er restored to running condition but I think I've got a few more important things to invest in first. lol (The garage is ready to come down so thats the plan this spring.) I'm just wondering what I should be asking if I do put her up for sale. I'm not sure the market is right in this area (short summers and expensive gas) $1.30+ per litre right now.

Any ballpark suggestions? Or is she too cool to sell? ;) lol

Thanks

ok......

boats are rarely worth restoring from a monitary stand point.......

understand....when we (on the forum) mean restoring......we mean full gut transom foam and stringers. that is a lot different than a good clean and get the motors running.

if you dont want the boat or dont have time to do the restoration. and are just looking to get out of the boat, put it on craigs list for 1000 bux with the trailer.
but until you clean it and get the motors running, as well as the drives......there is no way to know what you have.

if you are asking if you have a classic worth thousands of dollars like a 69 camero with a 396.... no, you dont. boats aren't like that. some are better than others form a resale standpoint. but there is rarely a boat that people are willing to spend huge dollars on
