According to the OEM service manual, it's 4400 max.
In that time period, of engines, the rated max WOT for 5.7 and 5.0 SB Chevy engines was 4200 to 4600. Volvo didn't really give a range in the sevice manual, just a solid number (impossible number) so basically, anywhere in the 4200 to 4600 range will be fine. The 4400 to 4800 rpm range came in with the roller rockers compared to the 260's flat lifters.
