WOT question

Hello,
When I push the throttle control handle down alll the way to full throttle, I must keep my hand on it. If I let go the handle will come up about 2 inches which cuts my rpms down to 3/4 throttle. Is this a safty thing or should I consider trying to fix it or even get a new one? At $250 I really want to keep mine.

There may be knob that will allow adjustment on force needed to throttle up or down.
