Hi,
I picked up a nice used boat and just spent a week on the water with it. It is a 19' Cobia bowrider. What is the recommended WOT rpm for the 4.3lx mercruiser? The boat is in great shape and came with two new props. They are AL 4-blade solas 14x21 props. Without knowing the recommended WOT rpms, I didn't want to push it. At 4500 rpm, there was still a good amount of throttle remaining and the boat averaged between 45 and 47 mph with our typical load per gps (60 per the fishfinder speedo!!! LOL).
Never had a 4 blade prop before. The boat gets out of the hole great. The previous owner installed a stingray hydrofoil which certainly helps get the boat out of the hole quickly. On the next outing, I plan to remove the hydrofoil and see how she runs. The previous owner installed it when the boat was new because he "always runs a boat with one".
Thanks
