When running the motor at WOT, I am able to get the motor running at a decent speed until the throttle lever hits about 5/8 open and the motor then bogs down and will die if I dont back off.

Since the motor is running so well at the lower throttle levels I will presume this is a throttle linkage problem?

Any comments???

Thx

sounds kinda like stopped up high speed jets in the carb/s to me, many carb throtles dont start opening until 5/8 - 3/4 throtle, just a thought, yes it hurt.

I agree about it sounding like a stopped up main jet. Try choking the engine a bit (manually) and see if it picks up. Could conceivably be a fuel delivery problem so try pumping the primer bulb too when it acts up and see if that makes any difference at all.
