I have a evinrude 110 v4 that I am trying to time using the "Joe Reeves Procedure". My question is that I can only find the sesor wire (Tan) that goes to the horn. When I touch the wire to ground it sounds off the horn. Is it possible that this engine does not have the fast start system. Thanks to any and all that can help. this number may help ; E110tlcur. I have a repair manual, but I bought it before I found this site, and am thinking that I should of invested in a better manual as per the advice that is given here.

So its a 1987.
The tan wire should go to the powerpack.
Touching it to the block is supposed to trip the alarm. SO thats good.
Definately get the right manual, I wasted good money on the aftermkt books too.

Is there anybody that has this information, does this engine have the fast start feature. I guess that I could just warm it up on the hose to disable it. Just trying to check my wot timming .
