I have a 1988 Evinrude 25Hp Tiller.
What should the WOT rpm be?
If the rpm is lower then it should be and I want to change my prop pitch should I go with a higher pitch or lower? I was thinking higher??

Re: WOT

Think opposites when considering pitch.

To get higher revs, use lower pitch.
To get lower revs, use higher pitch.

That's assuming everything else is set up right first of course.

What Stillfishing said. My understanding is that more pitch means more thrust with each prop revolution. Essentially, the more pitch, the harder it is for the motor to turn the prop (relatively speaking of course). Therefore, all other things being equal or similar, higher pitch will lessen your WOT rpms and vice versa with the lower pitch.
