cruise is about 3000-3500 RPM where the motor and hull get the best economy.

WOT is for blasting along.

I myself will run cruise about 80% of the time and WOT about 10% of the time.

It also depends on the weather and water conditions. I have seen the water look like mirror; gone 5-25 miles at 40-45mph. Have come back on that same water with 1-2' swells; speed fast enough to get back and not to beat the boat and me to death and rearrange everything.
