Here is what I would do.Leave the walk through windshield,it is more useful than you think.Lower the bimini top.It will provide more shade. The wing will be in the way when boarding from the rear and may innefear with engine maintainence.

Forgot to comment on the engine. If it fuel injected you will have major issues trying to get more power. If it's a carb engine then you have a few options.Regrind the cam but you will need some one with marine engine knowledge. To much and you can cause a water inversion. You can always over bore the cylinders, deck the block, and shave the head for a 9 to 1 compression ratio. You'll need to rejet the carb and adjust the ignition timing.Much more compression and you run the risk of burning a piston due to detonation.

Lexan / Plexiglass test bends harder than it seems!

Thanks Ben2Go for your insight, good ideas for the 4 cyl merc engine power up, yes it is carbed. Im kinda surprised with all the 4 cyl mercs out there there isnt a cam kit for em already. Figured porting it out would give me a few HP, advancing timing, raising octane (premium or additive) jetting carb out and such. Well as it turns out we really like the SLEEKCRAFT 23' executive, with some work she ought to be a real gem.

we actually have another project going see pics here

1978 Newman project boat 302 ford V8 stringer omc outdrive

We have a line on the parts to repair the chrysler outdrive on the sleekcraft, so once we get that fixed, we plan to take her out for a run and see what she's like. anything has to be better in the whitecaps than the small glastron we also own. I personally wouldnt mind a nice 29' offshore racer, ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba lol I like to go fast on the water....anyways, we may be selling the Glastron as is and keeping the Sleek :), thanks for all the input everyone.

PS I did buy some sample sized LEXAN and PLEX, plus a cheap heat gun. I definetly liked working with the lexan better (home depot) I ended up curving a pice around a bucket, didnt get very good results as uneven heating it bent at the hottest area, a good oven heat would be better, then the heat gun. WORK FAST! lol wear gloves. remove the protective film before heating or else it melts to the lexan. I melted some!
Another test I did was to cut some lexan with a metal cutting blade on my jigsaw, worked great, made a nice arc windscreen, polished the edges with sandpaper 100grit, then on to 400 wet, came out smooth no sharp edges. It would bend nicely without heating around an arced dash area, little aluminum strip along the bottom to help hold it down etc:eek:

Burned around $45 total for the test, got a heat gun out of it for that and a little knowledge.
