because of its property to fill cracks I was wondering if Superglue would be a good filler for crazes and such. The hull of my boat has some long crazes and I want to make sure they are sealed. Has anyone done/used this before?

Adam

I found a good one, Capt Tolleys Creeping Crack Cure Sealant. I'll give that stuff a shot.

What type of crazing are you referring to.A sealant is more like a thin caulk.Charlie

I have some gelcoat crazing/hairline cracks in the hull bottom. Some have a brown sap like substance that oozed out a little. I dried them out by turning the hull upside down in the hot sun (4m rib avon) I want to seal these cracks.

Thanks.

Adam

Also, most CA glues are WAY to brittle for these applications.

Ok,
so I went and purchased some gelcoat to repair the gelcoat crazing occuring on the hull of my boat. Can someone please tell me what is the best way to prep these crazes for recoating? Do I dig a small 1/8" v in the craze to be refilled?
I know this stuff must be free of air or "vacuum bagged" so that it sets tack free. I bought some gelcoat wax/spray to put ontop of the setting gelcoat to prevent it from getting tacky.

Thanks.
Adam
