Answered a CL ad for a fishing boat for $200. This is the pic that was sent. Seller says it's 18' no title.

Probably worth $200 in aluminum alone. Looks like it holds water fine, so it probably floats fine to. Some prep and paint and it will look like new.

It does not look 18' to me, but it would make a nice fishing boat. The trailer alone should be worth about $200 in of its self. So yes, id buy it!

Trying to go look tomorrow.

New tires, new transom, new seats if there are wood, paint.

It sure looks water tight.

Looks like our 14' Alumacraft. It's a good boat but I'd prefer something deeper.

I particularly love the shrubs growing under the M in the registration.

I'd offer $100... they'll likely take it

Second that... be sure to check the trailer frame --- that's a lot of water weight! Enough to blow out the tire ??? Or it just rotted. Wonder what kind of fish he stocks in his boat --- heckuva live well.

Don't think you need Gluvit on this one, 64. Trailer needs at least one tire. $75.

I'd probably buy it. But if it were here in NJ getting a title could be tricky, is that an issue in Michigan?

If the transom is 15" looks like it's 20", that's deeper than my Lone Star. I doubt it's 18' like seller says.

Water feature for my wife. You have to love the pic. I'm glad it's been above freezing most of this winter.

That would blend well with the low part of my yard, no grass just moss. If I put the boat there maybe my wife won't see it. I think that's the least of the issues.

It has no jack that's for sure, must not have a drain either. Amazing that the trailer still looks straight. I'm guessing the tires been down for at least a year. I'll borrow a dually diesel to bring the live well home.

Gluvit no, bilge pump and battery just to look at it. Ya think a tube could fix that tire.

I think I'll bring lots of 5 dollar bills, make it look like lots of money. $200 no, $75 would be great. We'll see.

My Lone Star had no title slid through with no issues. But the numbers weren't visible. Michigan titles are really not to bad without the right papers. At least so far.

Re: Would you buy this boat?

seriously you are asking a bunch of tin-o-philes if they'd buy a 200.00 boat?
Like taking beer to AA and asking if anybody is thirsty!

BUY THAT!

What about last year and the year before that? LOL

Take 5 gallon bucket or a spare bilge pump & battery.

Stop at Wally World or HF and grab a new tire & rim if you have a long tow.

Put a live well aerator pump on a concrete block in her and tell the wife it's her new fountain. That will work, no problemo. ;)

Re: Would you buy this boat?

It's a 14' Lone*Star, filled with at least 6" of ice. Saw about 10 popped rivets on the gunnel. Couldn't see much of anything else with all the ice. Trailer was listed at 500lb capacity, think it might be a little over weight.

Did all communication with the seller by text. He gives the me the address about a half hour before I get there. Not a good part of the town. I show up, looking at the boat, seller not present.

As I'm looking a guy pops out the front door and asks what I'm doing. I reply looking at the boat, is it yours? Response was No, it's my cousins, he's inside, but he says he has an offer.

I drive away and send another text, offering $75.00, someone at the house says it's sold. Response was Yea I had another offer.

I reply Would have been nice to know, thanks. Another reply, Your welcome, whatever buddy

Thankfully it was less than a mile off the path of the travels I had to make today. This is my opinion of the seller.
