How happy/satisfied are you with your current boat.......................and would you buy it again?? We've had our current boat for 13 seasons and if it weren't for wake boarding we would not even consider upgrading or changing crafts.

Re: Would you buy your current boat again??

What an excellent question . . . We have always loved our "current" boats. But I have always said that I am always on the lookout for my next Mistress, so . . . I think how I will answer this is if we were planning on doing the same type of boating and our situation with kids and finances was the same, then absolutely we would buy our Carrera again. She is an absolute sweetie and Mrs. QC allows me to have my way with her . . .

I love my boat, fits my needs. I would buy it again, however.. it was bought with a limited budget in mind so it would be as an extra boat while I had a nicer/bigger boat for my main boat.

I really like my current boat, '87 Trophy 2160 but if I had to do it over again, I would have keep the previous boat an '86 Beachcaft by Reinell. It was smaller so it made for easy launching by myself but the cockpit was large enough for only two to fish where the Trophy is comfortable with 4 fishing but need two to launch.

my wife and i are very happy with our 92 bayliner 2452,however,the newer model (2002) without the doghouse and with a 350 motor would be nice. we have looked at a 2007 246 discovery and both think bayliner has spoiled a great fisher/cruiser combo

In a heart beat, 16' Sea-Nymph ''bass boat''- 50 horse Evinrude with new prop and trailer and I paid $1750 for it, had it for 7 years, still dry and the motor runs great.

Yes. I bought my 1985 model in 1996 from the original owner and have had nothing but good service out of it.

yep, i'd have another aristocraft. once ya have a sliding hardtop, i can't imagine what the next boat would be that'd satisfy me... a cabin cruiser maybe..... doubt i'll ever have enough bread to get one of them though....

Yup - definitely! I looked long and hard to find a cruiser that we could use for overnighting, and while it's bit cramped at times the next step up is 3x price of my boat. Very happy that I did my homework and have had no major issues in past 5 years.

That said, we're looking for our next craft... the problem is that this one is paid for, only worth about $10k, and anything worth moving to is going to be $30k or more. Pretty big jump if we're to get something significantly larger (so as to make the change worthwhile from livability standpoint).

Sure would but with consideration to a couple of different options as my experience and use with the boat increased.

Re: Would you buy your current boat again??

Probably not.

This is our first boat, and we really didn't know what to look for when we got it. Current boat is a 13.5' jet boat. Due to inherent inefficiencies of a 13-year-old jet drive, it's underpowered for what we would like to do. It is horribly inefficient as far as fuel "mileage". I'd really like a 16' - 17' boat (no larger or it won't store in the garage over winter).

Oh, yeah... it's also a lot of fun ;).

I have a 17' Hurricane Fun Deck and I love it and it meets our current needs. Would definitely again but might add a foot or two to it and possibly a little different outboard.

I've had my current boat 4 years now. Love all the room but hate the fuel mileage and slow cruising speed. My answer to the question- "Probably not!".

I miss my 23' cuddy- she had overnight accomodations and did almost 50MPH with a single engine. Oh well.

Re: Would you buy your current boat again??

Trick question for me. I've had my 13' Whaler my whole life (starting in '64). Dad bought it new in '61. Mine "officially" at age 10 in '74 (ahhh, the days of "Flipper" and living on a lake). It will outlast me.
Nobody would give a 10 year old a boat, now-and-days.

Love the boat, would get a bigger motor (have a 140, would go at least 180).

For all the n00bs looking for advice about new boats: GET THE BIGGER MOTOR NOW, you'll be happy you did.

(Still a n00b, but 2 years later now I understand that paying a little extra will keep you happier longer).

Re: Would you buy your current boat again??

yes; with me retired and my wife and dog we can live on it for a couple of week at a time, yet its small enough to move around to different lakes
its big enough to ride good and feel safe in rough water. kind of like a mini house boat that goes fast
