they are probably ok but not a real pricey item..cheap enough to replace.

I would while I had it apart. Wouldn't want to have a boating day ruined for such a low cost item. I also wouldn't want to have to take everything apart again and do a link and sync a second time.

Replace them with the newer plastic floats as those can get heavy from age and fuel issues....

If you have the manual and can figure out how to set the new floats,then get new.
Otherwise keep the old and go boating.

I can set new floats. Are the new oem floats plastic or do I need aftermarket? (75 mariner sn. A117289) Thanks!

Float levels, linkage adjustment, and idle mixture will effect the way the carbs function. You need to do a link and sync and then adjust idle mixture and idle speed.
