Hello,
To make a long story short, a couple weeks ago I hit a shoal under the water and took out my lower unit, broke a fin on the upper unit, broke the gimbal bell housing and the gimbal ring. I found a complete donor from the transom housing down and am in the process of replacing the all of the bellows and the water pump etc, on the donor unit. I am also tearing the donor transom assembly for cleaning and inspection and need to know which way to drive the lower gimbal ring pivot pin? Do you drive it down or do you drive it up?
The transom assembly is an Alpha 1 gen 1.
Also the donor unit has gear lube in the U-joint bellows what is a fair price to pay to have the u- joints and and inner yoke and inner yoke shaft seal replaced?
