Wrist pin question

Hi Guys
I have a 59 Evinrude 10 hp sport twin model # 10018. It had a bad knock so I tore it down today and found the wrist pin end of one rod VERY badly worn with about 1/8 inch play, the wrist pin was badly damaged also. I have never seen one this bad and still be in one piece. The wrist pin end of the rod appears to have a bushing but the exploded view I down loaded from the internet doesn't show the bushing, does anyone know if it has a bushing or not. If it doesn't have a bushing where I can buy new rods or does anyone have a suggestion how to repair this?

A very common problem on the 10hp motors built prior to 1961. The pin would beat both the rod and piston to death. The 1961-up motors had a greatly improved bearing in the rod, along with a larger pin for more bearing area in the piston.

Along with the design change came obsolescence of the earlier rods and pistons. The newer parts will fit, but you have to replace rods, bearing, wrist pin, and circlips. You can't go half way on this one.

F R, Thanks for the reply, are you saying the newer rods will fit my crankshaft, if so thats good news. Where do you recommend I buy the replacement parts?
