Am I the only one who clicks on the big "Reply To Thread" button after typing a long response, instead of clicking the "Post Quick Reply" button? I can't tell you how many times I've done this recently. I must be getting old, but I sure wish that both buttons weren't so close to where I type!

It would seem to me that if you've already clicked the "Reply" button to type a reply, you don't need another big blue button nearby that erases your post and gives you another reply screen. Rant over

Re: Wrong Button

I see Reply and Reply With Quote, I always just hit the Reply and a box opens up under the message I am replying to, I type my message and hit the Post Quick Reply, which is next to the Go Advanced, which I do, if I want to add an Icon and that is next to Cancel, I don't see any Big Blue Button?

Re: Wrong Button

The human engineering on this sight leaves a bit to be desired. Normally, you would think that if you hit something that says "I want to do this action" you would be put to a screen with appropriate exit strategies on buttons, like "cancel" and "post".

As I type, there is a little "post quick reply" button under the text block presented, and a big blue and still active "+ Reply to Thread" button. I think the problem is that the quick reply block is always open, and clicking reply just moves the cursor to it. It should either be inactive till you hit something, or if you put text into the block, the "+Reply to thread" should do the same as post quick reply. A simple IF statement in the HTML should do it.

NOW, which durned button do I hit?

edit >> just took another look. Basically, the blue button is redundant and unneeded.

Re: Wrong Button

I do that crap all the time. If Im typing a long response, or especially if I am posting pictures before I post the reply I copy and paste everything in case I took too long and it has signed me out. I upload pics with tinypic so its time consuming.

It used to happen to me also, until I figured out to "go advanced" and get the whole bunch of posting options.

It's not rocket science but I must be using a different side of the brain then everyone else. I always hit the big blue reply to thread button FIRST.

After reading this thread I noticed the reply to thread button at the bottom.
Never used it. It's all good here. :D

Re: Wrong Button

I've done it. If I had programmed it, that blue "Reply to Thread" button would go away once you were actually replying to the thread. Or it would actually post the reply instead of deleting the stuff you just posted.
