Is that an Elgin? Gotta be like from the 40's or 50's, not the 70's?

That is a 3.6hp McCulloch in disquise. I believe early to mid 60's design. This particular motor was sold to Sears, for the Elgin, as you have here, Firestone and god knows how many other brands. They're actually a good motor and plenty of parts are still out there. The dealors will laugh at you when you ask, but a lot of private sources out there can help.

The ones I've fixed and sold ran pretty good, but these models are prone to rusty fuel tanks. Not much there to go wrong with them, because they are a pretty simple motor.
