To start the story off, we had a guy try to be funny and turned our heater off in our cabin. Waking up seeing your breath and barely being able to get out of bed will cause some sort of reaction.So we are fishing during the derby and it is a slow day and very cold. The heater guy drills a hole right outside one of the huts. He walked to the car for something and while he was gone we used a diving jig and hooked his line. We pulled up the line and took off the hook, and tied it to the pole inside the hut. After a few minutes when he gets back we gave him the bite of a lifetime. We were yelling and screaming to incurage him other guys in the hut saying they can see it and its huge. Telling him he is going to win the derby with this one. While inside the hut other guys are woking the line with there hands. Letting it go a little then giving a good yank. The heater guy has his fish fighting stance going thinking he is going to win. This fight goes on for a while, long enough and enough noise to get other people out watching. As soon as the fight began the guys in the hut decided to finish the fight. The look on the heater guys face when he broke the line was worth the cold morning. After he realized the fish is now gone the guys step out from the hut with his jig in their hands and we all start laughing to the point where I think the whole lake heard us. The trick worked perfect and out of eight of us we were all in on it except the heater guy. He wont be messing with any heaters for a while I promise. I thought he was going to cry when that line broke.
i might have been tempted to attach something on the end of his line for him to retrieve, like maybe one of his gloves with a fresh filling of outhouse surprise!<br />no, i think your payback was about right, and harmless.
