Yesterday my two younger boys and I but in our boat at Horseshoe Bend in Lovell, WY and boated about 45 miles up the most scenic canyons you have ever seen. These cliffs are several hundred feet tall in places. We then stopped at Black Canyon which has a boat only campground. We docked at some very nice docks and found 3 other boats all staying the night. The dock also has a nice bathroom built right into the dock. Everyone there stayed on their boats that night but there are also some camping areas with bear boxes and fire pits. I guess more people tent when the water gets higher and it is not as far of a walk to go to the bathroom.

After waking up and getting cleaned up we went the last five miles and docked and got some fuel(opened it up to much on the way up). After fueling we went around the corner and looked at the dam. They would only let you get to about 1/2 mile of it. I guess they used to have docks right next to it before 911 so that you could go up and walk around on it.

After that we went back down to Horse Shoe bend and got the toys out. We ended up taking out the manager of the marina's daughter after I found out that she has never been behind a boat. After a couple of hours of playing on the tube a knee board we loaded up and made it about 20 miles before 1 of 4 tires lost its tread. We turned around and stopped at a used car/ boat dealership that just happened to have a used tire one the exact same rim as mine that he sold me.:D We made it the rest of the way with no problems(was worried about the other tire on that side due to damage from the first tire).

Other than needing two new tires, we had a great time. The kids loved it and it was some very good bonding time with my kids.
